This is a 1:43rd Spark model of the #20 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR driven by 'Pierre Levegh' & John Fitch at the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hour.

It is the 300 SLR involved in the tragic accident that took the lives of 83 spectators during the race. Pierre Eugène Alfred Bouillin (he used the racing name Pierre Levegh in memory of his uncle, a pioneering driver who died in 1904) was driving, and he also died in the accident.
