This is a beautifully detailed 1:43rd scale Bizarre brand model of the Renault Dauphine that set a new CGC (Classic Gas Coupe) Class record of 76.5 mph (approx 123.1 kph) on the Salt Flats at Bonneville in 2016. The GC class is for coupes built between 1928 and 1981, with engine displacements ranging from 754 to 1,015 cubic centimeters. Those rules effectively eliminate many of the Dauphine’s competitors; the Beetle’s engine is too big, for example, athough a Fiat 600 with its 767cc engine could conceivably attempt to go faster. The record-setting Dauphine is powered by a 956cc four-cylinder engine.

The Dauphine was driven by French professional racing driver Nicolas Jean Prost, son of four-times Formula One world champion Alain Prost.
