It marks the first win by a non-German marque in the event since the triumph of Zakspeed's Chrysler Viper GTS-R in 2002.

The team - founded by Sabine Schmitz & Klaus Abbelen in 2005 - also set a new distance record, completing 162 laps of the 25.3-kilometre "Green Hell". That’s three more laps than the previous record - extremely impressive for their 24h Nürburgring debut.
