The Modificata is the newest track-day-only Ferrari, and is designed specifically for Ferrari Club Competizioni GT, a special race series hosted by Ferrari for owners of Ferrari GT racing cars. The 488 GT joins a list of a dozen other Ferraris (F40 Competizione, the 550 GT, the 458 GT3, etc.) that can take part in the series. It is based on the 488 GT3, but being free from the FIA's technical regulations, the limited edition Modificata makes an impressive 700 hp, and produces significantly more downforce (2,200 pounds at 143 mph) than the GT3 without adding drag.
